A warm welcome awaits you at Taigh an Uillt from Mike and Kath.

Taigh an Uillt is set back just off the main A87 road, 10 minutes drive from the Skye Bridge and 20 minutes from Armadale, where you arrive after sailing over to Skye from Mallaig. Broadford, the second largest township on Skye is just 3 minutes drive away.

Taigh an Uillt is situated on the outskirts of Broadford, the nearest hotel serving lunches and evening meals is only 10 minutes walk away. Broadford has a good mix of bars, cafes and restaurants serving lunches and evening meals. There is also a takeaway, supermarket, petrol station, laundrette and tourist information office. There is a mixture of gift shops, galleries and craft shops, plus the famous serpentarium.

Our comfortable bedrooms consist of one double ensuite, one double / twin ensuite and one double / twin room with private bathroom. All have tea and coffee making facilities, digital TV and radio and central heating.

For multiple night stays there is a spacious lounge with digital TV and DVD player.

We offer a full Scottish breakfast or continental. We are open all year except Christmas and New Year weeks.

Self catering is also available in Ardvasar, near Armadale towards the south end of Sleat.

How to Find Us

Coming from the Skye Bridge take the A87 road to Portree, as you enter the 40mile zone keep an eye out for a road sign on the left saying Sculamus, just beyond this you will see another sign saying Blind Summit, over the summit you will see a black and white B & B sign turn left into the drive of No. 7, we are the first house.

Coming from Armadale ferry take the road to Portree on passing over a cattle grid 14 miles from Armadale you enter a 40 mile zone, carry on to the T junction and turn right onto the A87 to Kyle, we are the 2nd drive on the right just before the Black and White B & B sign.

If coming from Glenelg ferry you turn left at the T junction on the main A87 road, as you enter the 40mile zone keep an eye out for a road sign on the left saying Sculamus, just beyond this you will see another sign saying Blind Summit, over the summit you will see a black and white B & B sign turn left into the drive of No. 7, we are the first house.

Local Attractions

The Isle of Skye boasts some of the best scenery in the world with spectacular sea and mountain views. Taigh an Uillt is an ideal base for hill walking, bird watching, sea eagles and golden eagles are often seen close by, otter watching at the Kylerhea otter haven and other outdoor activities.

If you like boats, there are daily trips from Elgol on The Misty Isle and The Bella Jane to the beautiful Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Cuillins, or the glass bottom boatsailing out of Kyle, or for the more adventurous take the seafari from Armadale looking for dolphins, basking sharks and perhaps even whales.

There are some lovely walks around Broadford, Fishermans Point from the pier, Waterloo and Lower Breakish, Ashaig Sandy Beach.

There is a ferry from Easter to October from Kylerhea to Glenelg where close by there are iron- age brochs.
